Embody Denim was created in 2006 when Natalie Wakeling Australia’s most successful plus-size fashion model was introduced to a wide range of denim when she was in New York City. She started out with designing an exclusive high-end range of jeans for curvy women, which has since evolved into a successful full fashion range.
With an amazing range of designs and fits, Embody Denim is the premium fashion range for women size 8-18.
Betty Diamond Swimwear
Helen Hooper – the designer of Betty Diamond – wanted a change.“I was just so sick of skimpy Lycra bathers, which if I could find any that fitted me, wore out before the summer was even over, so I decided to rethink women’s swimwear.”
It took her 2 years to find the right fabric (it’s strong and made here in Australia), research sizing (they measured many many women), get the patterns right (thanks to all the friends and friends of friends who gave their time to get pinned and fitted) and to learn about some of the mysteries of the manufacturing process – a very interesting, creative and ongoing journey.
Betty Diamond was quietly launched in 2009. They’re small and growing well – they print their our own fabric, and manufacture in Sydney – the response has been thrilling! It’s very exciting to be part of the ground swell of women, reclaiming their real beauty and celebrating the curves and shapeliness of the female form. Our very own Laura Wells is the model for Betty Diamond, and we are thrilled to support such a fantastic brand.

City Chic aims to help change the face of retailing for gorgeous curvy women everywhere. From the acceptance of hot on trend fashions for sizes 14+ to designer collaborations and history making fashion events. Not only is the city chic woman bold, sexy glam and chic, but she is fun, fashionable, and fearless.
