CURVES set the catwalk on fire yesterday at the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s first plus size parade.
The show at Federation Square proved larger women can look gorgeous in the latest styles. Top models flew in for parade, by fashion retailer City Chic, whose clothes go up to a size 24.
Aussie-born full figure supermodel Laura Wells sizzled in leather, chains and fishnet stockings. Signed to Sydney’s BGM agency, Wells has a busy career in New York and is in demand across the world.
The sexy collection of skin-tight jeans, leather jackets and flirty frocks grabbed the attention of the lunchtime crowd. The Sportsgirl Graduate Showcase parade at Docklands last night celebrated dynamic student design, including Sarah Mok and Celene Bridge.
A-list designer Alex Perry staged his first major Melbourne show last night, which many fashion followers said would be the festival highlight. Perry’s Cuban inspired spring/summer collection was a burst of colour against the mostly autumn/winter ranges on show this week.
