An Authentic Representation

It wasn’t so long ago that a photograph like the one above would be shunned by the fashion industry – it has taken a long time to get a size 14 model to be accepted into the same genre as “normal” models.

BGM is working hard to remove the language of “plus-size”, and “curves” from the industry, seeing these terms as out-dated.

Over the last 15 years, BGM has worked hard to be a leading example of what the fashion industry should be about – a positive representation of what women aspire to be like. In modern society, we are plagued with images from the media about how our bodies should look and feel, with an all-too-common outcome of self-dissatisfaction. BGM is constantly challenging and progressing the belief that models can look fabulous even as a size 16.

From now on, AUTHENTIC WOMEN will be the term to describe the kind of models we represent. As we have before, we will continue to educate the industry and ensure that the notion of authenticity within fashion is shared throughout the media. We have no doubt that other fashion agencies will follow our lead, and look forward to the day when all of our models are grouped under the general “Model” banner.
